Founded by Ian Hunt in 1972.

Ian Hunt Flooring’s current directors are Ian Hunt, Stephen Hunt and Ross Williams all of whom are at least second generation floor covering people with a passion for the industry.

We supply an extensive range of flooring products from carpet, laminate, engineered timber, tiles and vinyl, sourced from throughout New Zealand, Australia, USA and Europe.

Flooring has always been in the Hunt family. Ian Hunt's father was with a major flooring manufacturer in New Zealand and his grandfather was a buyer of Persian rugs for a company in England many years ago. Ian Hunt Flooring was established in 1972 and with 50 years of experience in the flooring Industry we have maintained an excellent reputation for servicing the wider Auckland area. Flooring has changed dramatically since the company was established and particularly in the early 2000s, Ian Hunt Flooring has always adapted to meet the changing trends of the flooring industry within New Zealand. Nylon carpets have become popular due to their fade and stain resistance and hard flooring, which we introduced in 2006, due to the popular open plan style of living and changing trends.
