Find the perfect Carpet for your space

As a leading Auckland flooring store, we know just the right carpet can enhance a room's aesthetic appeal and comfort. Different carpets have varying properties, so it is important to consider the space's specific needs before purchasing.

Benefits of Wool Carpet

Luxurious, warm and comfortable, wool is a natural choice when choosing quality carpet. Quite simply, wool looks beautiful and lasts.

Wool carpet absorbs moisture when the atmosphere is damp and releasing it when the environment is dry, creating a warmer home in the winter and cooler in the summer.

Wool fibre is as strong as it is beautiful, and the denser the fibre, the better the carpet. New Zealand Wool is the whitest, cleanest, purest wool in the world.

Wool carpets are fire retardant, providing peace of mind and increased safety in your home. Wool actually absorbs contaminants in the air, improving the indoor air quality and helping you breathe easier. By their very nature, wool carpets are good for the indoor environment.

Benefits of Solution-Dyed Nylon (SDN)

Durable and resilient, SDN carpets provide the ultimate in performance being able to withstand stains, spills and sunlight. It is designed for modern living and working environments.

Solution-dyed nylon carpet has one key advantage over a wool carpet, being they have fantastic fade resistance properties due to the fact the colour runs all the way through the fibre – great if your home is north facing and prone to lots of sunlight.

There is a wide range of SDN carpets available that are resistant or proof to spills, staining, fading, with anti-static and anti-soiling properties and are easy to clean and maintain.

SDN carpet will not shed or pill, making it the ideal choice if you have asthma or allergy sufferers in your household.

The extensive colour range makes finding a stylish carpet for your home easier than ever.

Carpet Styles

Frieze/shag pile carpets are constructed with long cut pile tufts that lie in different directions, providing a deep texture and shaggy appearance. This carpet style provides texture and a sensual and luxurious feel.

Cut pile hard twist carpet is the most popular style sold in the New Zealand market. Constructed with a high twisted yarn causing the pile to lie in different directions, cut pile hard twist carpets offer a textured appearance and luxurious feel underfoot. This style of carpet is less likely to show traces of footprints and vacuuming within the pile when compared to a plush cut pile carpet. Permanent pile reversal is a consideration.

Cut and loop pile carpet is constructed with a combination of both cut and loop tufts giving a textured appearance. Cut and loop pile carpets have a stylish finish with a soft, smooth feel. This style of carpet has a tendency to display temporary shading from footprints and vacuuming. Permanent pile reversal is a consideration.

Cut pile plush carpet is constructed with a slight twist in the yarn so the pile stands upright providing a smooth 'velvet-like' surface. This creates a carpet with a very soft, luxurious finish. Plush pile carpet has a tendency to display temporary shading from footprints and vacuuming. Permanent pile reversal is a consideration.

A looped carpet is formed when the yarn is threaded through the backing then sewn back through creating a loop of yarn. There are several types of loop pile carpets including level loops, sisals, textured loops and multi-level loops. Each type of looped carpet creates a distinct look in the home. Pattern match, seams, bowing and skewing are considerations.

Price & Quality

Carpet is one of the most affordable flooring options. It's usually quoted in linear metres (1m long x 3.66m wide – the dimensions of a standard carpet roll). To convert to square metres, divide by 3.66.

Durability & Gradings

Rest assured, all our carpets are exceptionally durable. The best way to measure durability is to look for an independent grading like the ACCS Residential Extra Heavy Duty Plus Stairs, 6 Star Grade label that you'll find on the back of all our carpets.

Colour Tips

The appearance of colour can change in different environments, so it’s important to view your chosen sample under daylight and artificial light before making your final decision. And remember; darker colours can make a room appear smaller, whereas lighter colours can create a sense of spaciousness.
